Specialized
Medical Massage Therapy for Hospital Patients
Both your patients and hospital staff can enjoy
the therapeutic benefits of massage at your hospital
facility. Monroe Therapeutic Massage is happy
to work with you to design a program to fit your
hospital's needs.
Our
staff of highly trained massage practitioners
has specialized training and experience in medical
therapeutic massage. Most Monroe Therapeutic Massage
practitioners have 1,000 hours of training compared
to typical massage therapists who average 500
hours of training. Each massage therapist works
with doctors as part of the patient's medical
team. Every massage is charted and doctors receive
regular reports.
Patients
appreciate the convenience of having their insurance
company, L & I, PIP or a Third Party billed
on their behalf. Special arrangements can be made
for patients who would like massage therapy and
cannot afford it.
Specialized
Medical Massage Tables
We use specialized massage tables with hydraulic
lifts so they can be lowered and raised to make
it easier for patients to get on and off. Tables
are padded and have built in heaters which are
adjusted for each patient's comfort. Tables can
easily hold over 400 pounds because of their sturdy
steel construction.
Western
Medicine + Massage Therapy Speeds Recovery
Patients can heal faster with less discomfort
when receiving professional medical massage therapy
in conjunction with their doctor's treatment.
Medical
massage therapy has been standard in European
hospitals for decades and is once again becoming
popular in United States hospitals. Until the
1970's US nurses used massage to help patients
sleep better and to relieve pain. Massage decreased
with the use of more powerful pain medications.
Medical
Massage Therapy Can:

analgesics, sedation and sleeping pills.

of isolation.
